My friend and I were sitting at a quiet beach wherein we both spotted a flock of birds travelling back home. “This is the right moment to die for”… he said spontaneously.
Why do you feel so? I asked. His answer was “when you are miserable, that is the right moment to live, and when you are feeling happy, that is the right moment to die”.
“Drop this nonsense! When a bird flies by and you feel at peace, this is the moment to live and love and dance. Why be in a hurry for death? Death is coming on its own any way”… was my reply.
I have also seen people who constantly doubt their own happiness. And very surprisingly, doubt does not arise when they are sad or depressed. Even when they are smiling, such people feel afraid to laugh as they laugh reluctantly. All this happens because their fitment with happiness is perhaps yet to happen.
I continue to believe that death happens to people who are already dead by living with the choices that are not of their own.
I pray that while I am breathing; let me be so alive that even death when it comes cannot kill me but just hold my hand like a newly found beloved towards a new journey of life.I wish to transcend death.
Let that moment be in totality whether in my youth or in my future old age. May my life be so abundant that death itself would fall in love with me.
May I also urge you all to live deeply, totally so when death comes and knocks your door… you are Ready!. And this readiness can only be achieved through Living Compassionately!!!
So… dear readers, the next time when a beautiful moment passes by: Dance! Sing! Paint! Love!!! May you’re presence is able to add an intense splendor, a grace to lives of others.
Happy Holi! My celebrations have just begun.
PS: Today is the 9th death anniversary of my friend- philosopher –guide who was also my biological father and I dedicate this article to him.
People around him used to ask him the secret of being young. His answer was “I simply enjoy health when it happens and enjoy illness also when it happens. Then both become beautiful. And because beauty associates itself with the youth, I appear younger to you”.
